A well established print and digital publisher is seeking a FULL-TIME, ON SITE online design professional with a proven record of launching and managing sites from conception to ongoing operations. We are in the early stages of developing a site and the right candidate will play an integral role in its development and ongoing success.

In this role, you’ll have the best of both worlds—independence from the primary site operations yet support when needed from engineering, programming, editorial and business development.

Candidates will only be considered who can clearly demonstrate a successful track record of well-rounded online development from wireframes to initial comps to prototype to implementation and ongoing management. Expectations will be high as this position will be primarily responsible for the ultimate look and feel and ongoing operations of this new, content-intensive site.

Specific Skills

Required skills and experience:

•Expert knowledge of UI design and best practices with the ability to articulate design choice rationale
•Expert knowledge of HTML/DHTML/XHTML and CSS
•Excellent graphic design sensibilities
•Experience using Javascript, jQuery and AJAX in real world applications
•Expertise and efficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite design tools
•Familiarity in using online content management systems.
•Experience with Movable Type, WordPress or other blog publishing platforms
•Must be capable of doing some light PHP coding and working knowledge of the LAMP solution stack.
•Knowledge of the social web and how to leverage it for a project
•Video editing and production a plus
•Must work and play well with others as part of our highly-collaborative team.
